- You must press the Ctrl Alt and Delete keys on your keyboard all at once and release.
- The Windows Task Manager box appears.
- Make sure you are in the Applications tab.
- The programs that you have opened will be listed: Consciousness, Disease, Bodyviewer, Manfly.avi, and/or Irid.
- In the Status column, check to see whether the programs are running or not responding. If the program is listed as running, that is good – you are more likely to be successful in getting out of the freeze-up.
- At the bottom of the box, click on New Task.
- The Create New Task box now appears. Close by clicking the red X on the top right-hand corner of this panel.
- Close by clicking the red X on the top right-hand corner of the Task Manager box.
- All the above steps may seem complicated at first but once you get the hang of it, there’s really nothing to it. Doing this seems to trick the computer into coaxing a process to complete or for the OK message to appear on top, rather than behind the panel.
- Another variation of the above trick is to use the Switch To button (instead of New Task). If Consciousness is highlighted, change the selection by clicking on the Bodyviewer, now click Switch To. Attempt this a few times back and forth and it may unfreeze the computer.
